Onboarding Software as a New Form of Social Media

By Amanda 3. April 2012

What was once a society that desired privacy we have now become a society that craves to let everyone know almost every detail of our life. It seems like everyone has a Twitter, Facebook, or another form of social media. All of our “friends” now know where we are every day, what we eat, what we do, and any and all other details we decide to share.

For employers, this obsession with social media can be very beneficial when it comes to finding a job candidate for a position they are hiring for. In a society that is ready to post all of their information online, onboarding software can be used in such a way. Companies can use this software to draw a larger, possibly more qualified, pool of potential job candidates. The software allows you to customize your page and ask specific questions that you think would be good in judging the qualifications of the candidate.

Almost everything is done online nowadays; paying bills, buying groceries, connecting with old friends, and virtually just about everything else, so why not also apply for a job this way as well? Individuals can go online, see the job posting, and apply for it. This can also eliminate part of the dreaded job interview because a lot of the questions that the employer may ask in a sit down interview can be asked on the company’s profile page.

Although oftentimes, many individuals may get into trouble with some of the content they say or post on their social media sites, it can be used in a positive way as well; job hunting being one of them.

Onboarding Software Helps Keep Track of Important Information

By Amanda 13. February 2012

Almost everything in today’s society is done electronically. Whether it is filling out paper work at the doctors or applying for a job, it is more than likely all of your forms will be electronic. For major companies, onboarding software helps manage all of this paper work.

Not too long ago, if someone was to apply for a position, they would most likely type out a resume, print it out, and send it in to the hiring company. When it comes time to go through the resumes and begin to call in applicants for an interview, it can be a hectic situation. There are a great number of resumes and dealing with paper versions can be overwhelming. With onboarding software, everyone’s information is all online and very easy to access.

The software also allows clients to pick and choose who they would like to have come in for an interview based on what they write in their profiles and on their resumes. The process just makes it a lot easier and more efficient because everything is stored in one space and very simple to find. There is no need to go through so many papers just to find those select individuals. In addition, for whatever reason that you may need those files again, they are all stored right there. There is no need to worry about missing papers or messy handwriting.

Finally, the software allows new employees to become better acquainted with a position. This helps take away from the time that it takes for new employees to learn about a company and the training aspect of it and go straight into working.
